By accessing and using Français Pro ("the Platform"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

2. Description of Service

Français Pro is a free platform designed to help users learn French, with a focus on Canadian immigration preparation. The Platform provides:

• Interactive French lessons and exercises
• Progress tracking and analytics
• TEF (Test d'Évaluation de Français) preparation materials
• Immigration-focused French vocabulary and content
• Community features including leaderboards

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Be responsible for all activities under your account
• Not share your account with others

4. Free Service

Français Pro is provided completely free of charge. We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service
• Introduce new features or remove existing ones
• Change these terms with reasonable notice

5. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Platform for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's operation
• Upload malicious code or harmful content
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Scrape or copy content without permission

When participating in L'Espace Communauté (the chat lobby), you also agree to:

• Use only clean text and allowed emojis (👍, ❤️, 😂, 👏, 🇫🇷) for communication. Any HTML, script tags, or complex Markdown will be filtered and stripped
• Communicate primarily in French or English to promote a helpful educational environment for Canadian immigration preparation
• Respect community guidelines: spamming, advertising, offensive language, or bypassing local message rate-limits is strictly prohibited

6. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and code on this Platform are the intellectual property of Français Pro:

• The source code is proprietary and not publicly available
• Educational content is provided for personal learning purposes only
• You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the Platform
• Commercial use of any Platform content is not permitted

7. Learning Content Disclaimer

While we strive for accuracy, Français Pro is provided "as is" without warranties:

• Content is for educational purposes only
• We do not guarantee specific learning outcomes
• TEF preparation materials are supplementary resources
• Immigration information is general guidance only
• Always verify critical information with official sources

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Français Pro and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Platform.

9. Third-Party Services

The Platform uses third-party services:

• Service providers: Authentication, database, and hosting
• Vercel: Deployment and CDN
• These services have their own terms and privacy policies

10. Termination and Moderation

You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings. We may terminate or suspend access to the Platform immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users.

For L'Espace Communauté chat violations, we apply progressive moderation actions, including but not limited to:

• Automatic filtering or masking of messages containing prohibited words/phrases
• Temporary muting of your chat capabilities (e.g., 24-hour mutes) for rate-limiting violations or minor conduct infractions
• Permanent suspension of your ability to participate in community chats or deletion of your Français Pro account for repeated violations or severe misconduct

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes through the Platform or via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
